Volunteering & Serving In Grant Park

from Susan Whatley, ARNP, a strategic partner with CMDA Atlanta

Licensed volunteers needed!  My name is Susan Whatley, ARNP and I am a nurse practitioner who is starting a new free clinic in Grant Park (645 Grant St SE, Atlanta, GA 30312). The clinic is called Urban Health and Wellness and will serve those who are uninsured and those with Medicaid.

We are partnering with the Georgia Volunteer Health Care Program (GVHCP) which provides free malpractice to any volunteer in the state of Georgia.  There is a couple of pages that need to be filled out and sent into the GVHCP and then you will be approved to volunteer.  If you are interested in volunteering, please email Carla at Carla.Catalon-Scott@dph.ga.gov and tell her you are licensed and would like to fill out a packet to be a volunteer. (If you have served with CMDA Atlanta with our Lazarus work or Clarkston refugee clinic and been approved with GVHCP - you don't need to do this again)

The name of the clinic is Urban Health and Wellness.  We are opening on April 19th and the clinic hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-1pm.  I am looking for nurses who can help with blood draws and triage.  Also if there are any other providers (NPs, PAs or MDs) who would like to volunteer, I would love to meet and give you more information.  If you would like to sign up to volunteer, please see the instructions below:
